Long bio ~200 words
Aqshay Rana is a musician, actor and storyteller based in Himachal Pradesh, India. His earliest musical
memories are his father's old cassette deck and an iPod a friend lent him over a summer break. Hearing a
soulful guitar instrumental on television during his 12th board exams inspired him to learn the guitar
and start his own musical journey; the Rockstar soundtrack, heard in that same period, convinced him to
pursue music as a career. He counts Himesh Reshammiya's Aap Kaa Surroor and Atif Aslam's voice
on Doorie among his first major influences.
Aqshay writes lyrics, composes, sings, acts and writes screenplays, and he founded Maharana Melofilms,
which produces the series. His current project, Labb Aur Naina, is a romantic musical
series: a concept album in which interconnected songs unfold a single love story. Each song is built
around one situation or moment, with lyrics that stay loyal to that emotion, and the screenplay lets the
songs blend into one another so the story keeps moving forward. He performs his own characters because,
as the writer, the emotions feel personal to him.
The series' Theme Music, which weaves instrumental elements from every track into a single cinematic
piece, and its Motion Poster are out now. Aqshay's ambition is to create many more musical series like
Labb Aur Naina and, one day, a feature film on his own life.
